What is an EPC?

Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) determine how energy efficient your property is, giving them a rating from A to G. The EPC rating is made up of a range of criteria including, the age of the property, wall type, window type, boiler model, insulation and much more.

Once completed an EPC is valid for ten years and is a legal requirement whenever properties are built, sold or rented.

How much do they cost?

How will I get my EPC?

Once completed you will be emailed a pdf copy of your EPC and a direct link to the government website where it will be available for 10 years.

Landlords

Since April 2018, all rented properties in England that are to be let have been required to achieve a minimum rating of E on the EPC. Unless there is an accepted exemption, landlords can face a penalty of up to £4,000 for failure to meet the minimum efficiency requirement.
